Performing Arts

The Waunakee Community School District Music Department, K-12,
believes that music is a core part of a student’s overall education.

The music program strives to develop lifelong participation and joy in music by providing a safe environment with opportunities for students to develop self-expression, understand themselves, create deeper connections with the global community, learn how to collaborate with others, and to develop a sense of identity and belonging. Students are involved in musical experiences as listeners, performers and composers during their school years. Our sequential curriculum is based on developing skills in the following areas as defined by the Wisconsin Music Educator Association and Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction: Creating, Performing, Responding and Connecting.

Elementary (K-4)

Abigail Taulbee Arboretum Elementary
Emily Cassel Heritage Elementary
Christina Metzger Prairie Elementary

Intermediate (5-6)
